Daisy
is an Irish import Labrador we brought home from Ireland in
2011
from Glenbriar Labradors. This bloodline may be the oldest truly
line bred line of Labradors left in the world. Glenbriar dogs
have
earned 10 National Field Trial champions(NFC's) which is more than
any line bred bloodline in Labrador history. Daisy is our third
Lab from these lines and will likely not be our last. Typical of
Glenbriar Labs, Daisy is a very fast, high energy, happy girl
that
loves to retrieve. Like Roisin she was an absolute natural practically
already trained. She has a natural hold of bumpers and game
requiring
no force fetch training. Daisy also has an excellent on/off switch
being a wonderful quiet and calm dog in the house. Daisy is
a small
Lab measuring 19 inches at the withers and weighing 42 pounds.
Labradors from the UK are much smaller than their American counterparts.
The
breed standard of the Kennel Club(England) is 2 inches shorter
than that of the Labrador Retriever Club of America(LRC) which
sets the
breed standard here in the USA. The LRC has raised the height in
their breed standard twice from it's original breed standard.
Daisy
is what Labradors used to be. She is very intelligent and is one
of our favorite dogs. Daisy is OFA excellent, elbows are normal,
CNM, EIC, and PRA clear,. Irish Labradors look much like American
Labs but are just smaller. British labs tend to be blockier. |
