When
we saw that Maggie's litter had been bred we had a feeling that
this was the Chocolate Labrador that we had been searching for every
since Jake had passed away. Jake was a once in a lifetime Chocolate
Lab and we did not think that we would ever be so fortunate to ever
own another like him. Within a couple of weeks of picking Maggie
up on Christmas Day 2007 we knew that she was a very special girl.
She has done nearly everything right from the first day. We had
to wait until the spring thaw to do her first water retrieves. The
first two bumpers were thrown at the edge of the water to get her
feet wet. The third was thrown about 6 feet from shore and Maggie
leaped completely past it . She came to the surface turned around
and retrieved it to hand. The picture above was taken on her first
day of water work. The pictures below were taken on her second day
ever of being in the water. Maggie has incredible drive to go with
her complete set of natural skills yet has been a dream to handle.
Maggie's only limitations are our ability to train/handle her. She
is a litter mate of FC-AFC-CFC-CAFC-NDD Upon the Wings of an Answered
Prayer(Ammo). Ammo just won the High Point Derby Dog of the Year
award and shattered the all time points record for Derby dogs. Maggie
is out of GMPR Santa Fe's Contender Tyra MH and sired by AFC/QAA
Wing Magic's Louisiana Roux MH. Maggie's litter mate GMPR Roux's
Diamond in the Rough QAA'd in the summer of 2010. Due to financial/job
issues in 2009 we had to suspend competing dogs. We plan to resume
competing in the spring of 2013 when the test/trials resume in the
Midwest. Maggie is OFA Hips/GOOD and Elbows/NORMAL. She is clear
for CNM and her eye CERF is normal. She is a carrier of the EIC
gene and when bred the stud will be EIC Clear and the litter will
be micro chipped and EIC tested. Maggie is a litter mate to the
most titled Chocolate Lab(Ammo) in history and puts her stuff in
her puppies. One puppy from her first litter, Just Trigg(owned by
Monte Bochart) made the Derby field trial list in 2012. Big Gun
Angus(Monte Bochart) from Maggie's second litter placed 4th and
1st in 3 Derbies so far in 2013. Angus finished his derby career
in 2014 when he turned 2 years old. He ran in 14 stakes and placed
in 12 of them and finishing on the Derby list. Her third litter
went home in the summer of 2013 and from the early reports we expect
even better results from that litter. Our pup from that litter CC
got her first AKC Senior Hunter pass at 14 months. He litter mate
naz is about to start running Derby. On Aug. 29, 2014 Big Gun Angus
and Just Trigg placed 1 & 2 in a Qual making both QAA giving
Maggie two QAA puppies from her first two litters. Angus was 2 years
5 months old when he QAA'd. Maggie's puppies continue to prove the
bloodline passes it's traits on. Maggie will be bred again in late
winter/early spring 2015 likely to FC Nandool's Elwood Blues for
an all chocolate litter. Multiple deposits already. Her puppies
can hunt or compete at any level with any Labs in the country on
land or in the water. They also point upland birds. This is the
best Chocolate Labrador bloodline in the world currently and most
likely in history. Maggie's litters sell out before they are whelped
so please do not delay in placing deposits on her litters. We prefer
these pups go to competitive homes but may make a few exceptions.
