| Stella was selected in late 2015 to be the "cover girl" for a new formulation quality chicken based dog food, Red Flannel Prime Performance Chicken Formula 30/20 from PMI Nutrirtion which is a Purina Mills company. Stella is our favorite girl, truly a once in a lifetime dog! She is our main waterfowl dog and also has a staunch, natural point on upland birds. | |
| Stella was sired by MPR RattlinRidge's Bronco Bill MH(Willie). Willie is tractable,has a lot of drive and desire to retrieve. He is also a stylish upland bird hunter, with natural point. He is extremely intelligent and biddable. He is dark brown and a muscular 70-75 pounds with a good nose. Willie has jammed Derby's and Quals. SCL's Sugar Magnolia is Stella's dam and she has a lot of Maggie in her. Maggie is a litter mate of FC-AFC-CFC-NCAFC-NDD Upon the Wings of an Answered Prayer(Ammo) who was the 2009 High Point Derby dog that shattered the all time points record by 40%. Ammo now holds 3 of the all time field trial records. Stella has drive and style with a very aggressive water entry. She is fast, powerful, and intelligent. Stella has a great on/off switch and is very good around children and in the house. At nine months she was marking 200+yards to perfection. Stella achieved her AKC Senior Hunter(SH) title in 2013 after taking a year off due to a migrating weed seed in her bloodstream that was finally resolved. Stella will run APLA and HRC events to get her GMPR and HRCH titles. Her early training was done by Dan and Missy Heard of Downtown Retrievers. After a year off due to the migrating weed seed issue she earned her AKC SH title with Rusty Haglund of Trigger Time Kennels. Mike Lettau of K&L Kennels will work with her for her GMPR title. Several of Stella's litter mates will also compete in HRC, AKC, and APLA tests. Three earned AKC JH titles and one an AKC SH and jammed a Derby in 2011 and made the Derby list in 2012 and earned QAA honors in 2014 with a rookie handler/owner. Two hunted pheasants in South Dakota at 5 months of age and were stars among veteran adult pro trained Labs. Owners of these pups purchased 3 puppies from Maggie's next litter(3-25-2012) as did the breeder of the 2011 NFC, FC NFC Watermark's Running Back and the reports thus far are excellent on them. One of them placed 4th in it's first Derby in June of 2013. Stella has a great disposition and loves to work. She also pointed the first bird planted for her. On her first day of water retrieves at 3 months she was leaping 10 feet into the water fearlessly like her mother Maggie. Stella may already be our best dog. Stella is EIC/CNM Clear. Her hips/elbows are certified OFA Good/Normal. She began her heat cycle a couple of days after the OFA X-rays were taken so she may be OFA Excellent. Her CERF is current. She carries only chocolate genes(bbEE). CNM and EIC Clear. The sky is the limit for Stella. | |
